1994 Sunday 24th JulyThe event attracted 130 exhibitors and approximately 7000 visitors. We had three main marquees and two large tents. Bert Massey in his position as Chief Executive of RADAR officially opened the event, Bert is now the Chairman of the Disability Rights Commission. Due to the number of tables and chairs now required these were hired in from a local provider, a generator was also required due to the demand for power for our exhibitors. A team of volunteers, including family, friends and Lions Clubs members spent all day Saturday setting up the event area. Disability Awareness Day was highlighted as an example of good practice at a European conference, "Access Europe". |
